Siren

Sirens. . . those beautiful, devious mythical creatures. In the story of Odysseus, they try their best to get him off course with their beauty & singing but, thankfully, he was prepared for their schemes. He was able to resist them, journey on, and to finally make it home. This painting is of a siren bust holding fresh lemons branches has some of the beauty but none of the danger of the real thing.
