Wild meets refined in ‘O Tannenbaum’, a design inspired by uncultivated Frasir Firs & gilded sacred motifs. The last couple of Christmases we have been lucky enough to get our hands on the most beautifully untamed trees from an abandoned farm in the mountains of Virginia. They’re a little spindly, allowing for views of the lichens growing on the trunk. They’re almost too pretty to decorate. The gold sunburst design radiating from the top is reminiscent of gilded motifs commonly used in Baroque church metalwork & architecture- the epitome of refined. Authentic juxtapositions, highbrow & lowbrow, beauty for beauty’s sake; these are a few of my favorite things.
